During the month of July, we are pleased to participate in the blanket drive for the Hutt Street Centre.  Please bring in any blankets you have at home which may be surplus to your needs.  We will have a basket at reception ready to collect your donations.  We will be donating blankets of our own of course too.  Our community is important to us and we recognise those who are doing it tough.

July is certainly a fresher month in Adelaide.  The trees have lost a lot of their leaves and it feels like we are hunkering down into a winter coats a little more.  This year there is no option of a Winter getaway to warmer climes as we Aussies are used to.  We are however, so grateful to be in our wonderful country, fit and well.  There are many wonderful walks around South Australia which will keep you warmed up and enjoying the fresh air.  We would recommend a day trip to Mannum Falls-spectacular when there is a lot of water in the system.  A local walk around Belair National Park or Morialta Conservation Park-easy walks or more challenging hikes too.  Or perhaps a drive down to McLaren Vale for a walk/ride/scooter along the Vine trail.  While at McLaren Vale, there are lovely bakeries, wineries and cafes for samples of the local produce.  What recommendations would you make for us to expand our horizons?  Let us know at admin@adelaidecitydentalcare.com.au

Within the clinic we are in a lovely warm and welcoming space.  Dr Nick Heide and Claire have joined us and are happy to help you with your dental health so you can eat, drink, and smile as you would wish.  We have had a number of patients who have spent time during the recent isolation deciding to get their teeth, mouth and smile healthy and happy.  If you have been deferring looking after your teeth, gums and smile you are not alone!

Your dentist may have talked to you about cracks that need some assistance with fillings or dental crowns, or decay in a tooth that needs fixing. Our dental hygienist may have spoken to you about the need for a great clean under your gums.  Perhaps a broken tooth or filling needs to be fixed?  We may have even recommended a specialist appointment.  We are here for you, ready to assist you to take charge of your oral and general health and well-being.

Something to be aware of is that small issues do become problematic and require more active and expensive treatment.  It is much easier to fix small things!  It is also Murphy’s Law that further breakages or pain will happen at the least convenient time – Christmas, Easter, before a holiday or even during pandemics. ☹  If you have any questions please call 8212 3880 and we will make a time to discuss your treatment requirements.

We have been busy behind the scenes ensuring our practice is a safe place for our patients and our team. We are proud to remind patients our dental clinic has always been accredited for our infection control procedures.  Some small changes you may note at your next visit however, are:

  • social distancing in the reception area, hand sanitiser on arrival for your use,
  • and a pre-procedural mouth rinse in the chair.
  • our hygienists and our referral specialists are a little busier currently as they try to catch up

See you in the clinic!  The team at Adelaide City Dental Care
